An East Coast/New York style bakery opened in a nearby town, so I checked it out. Yummy breads with crunchy crusts and chewy inside textures. As an East Coast immigrant to Colorado, I'm in heaven!

Benitoite --Interesting shrine. What's the story behind it?

We are in Vietnam for a month. Most households have these shrines in the kitchen as part of the folk religion. The shrine is an honor to the kitchen god, Ông Táo ("stove master"), who protects the family and home. A triplet of incense sticks are offered every evening. There are many legends regarding the kitchen god and another important deity, the kitchen god's wife.
We have no idea what the Chinese writing says, I would have to research that.
