Anyone know (and have pics) if the Thintank Speedracer V2 will hold a gripped 7DII with a 70-200 2.8 attached? (As well as a 10-20 3.5 and 17-50 2.8)
I came across an old thread on a another forum, but the pictures were removed.
According to that thread it does, but official site says does not.
The bag is used and not local.

Any general thoughts on the bag? Will be used for travelling and shooting sporting events mainly.

Thanks!

I have the Speedracer 2 in which I carry my 5DIII with 70-200 mounted and 24-70 in the other side of the divider. I don't have the battery grip with my 5DIII, but if I do, it'd fit. You just need to position the body inside the bag in a certain way. That'd leave you with just enough room for an additional lens. Although I use the bag all the time, it's not my favorite bag. I use it because it does the job. It's a bit tight fit depth-wise when 70-200 is mounted. It's not a big deal. If I have to start all over again, I'd get a bigger bag. The Speedracer 2 is very well built, though.

Thanks!
What do you prefer?
I'm looking for something comfortable, easy to access and swap lenses and be able to carry the 70-200 mounted.
I just got the Tamrac Velocity 8X - I can carry them - but it is a bit tight, so getting the camera in and out is a bit of a pain, but once out, lens swapping is a breeze.

Here's the photo of my 5DIII in the bag. This should show how your gripped body can fit if you place your 7DII in the same direction:

This bag might work for you since it's a part fo the Think Tank's "modular system," i.e., you can attach one of their lens pouches to the Speedracer 2, like this:

This should allow you to change out your lenses easily and comfortably.

Thanks for the pics - exactly what I needed!!
I like the belt systems, but most of my travelling is with the family where I'm actually in some pics - so I find it easier to have everything in one bag when putting it down.
There is a local used bag for sale for about $100 - so it's tempting for sure - looks like a great quality product.

I own several bags of all different kinds, but one thing I stopped doing several years ago is wearing any of them around my neck or on shoulders. They all serve transportation purposes only now. Then, when I do shoot, I go to my Cotton Carrier Vest or ThinkTank Belt system or SpiderPro or BlackRapid or the combination of these -- all depending on the specific shoot. I'm a much happier photographer now that the weight is off of my neck and shoulders!

I'm with you, as someone with a neck condition, I'm a much happier camper now that I have the Think Tank belt and bags. Between these and the Blackrapid dual-straps, I can do a three-day race weekend with absolutely no problems.

I'm mainly here for the snacks

Thanks for the advice and pointing me in the direction of more gadgets and toys!

I'm still considering the street racer 2. I tend to use bags in one of 3 ways:
(In any event, I want the ability to be able to leave my camera mounted on the 70-200 or another lens if I wish)

1. Hiking / traveling where I will hardly be putting my bag down at all, camera will be out on a sling and I want quick access to my lenses and want to keep the bag footprint small - the Tamrac Velocity 8x seems to do the trick quite well - but can't really put it down without front or back getting dirty.

2. Going to places where I will do a combination of wanting quick access to the bag, carry a bit more gear, and be able to put it down and shoot from - I definitely prefer hip bags (or ones with waist straps) I'm not quite ready for a full on belt system. The TT Speed Racer seems like it may be a good fit.

3. Wanna take all my gear, toys, gopro, etc - still usable for hiking, but not as critical to have quick access - mainly for taking everything from point A to B - I have a Lowepro Flipside 400 AW on order for that.

For the time being, I don't think I need a bag that can carry a laptop. But who knows what next week will bring!!

I picked up the TT SpeedRacer 2 today. It's only marginally bigger than my Tamrac Velocity 8x - but has more useable space as the Tamrac tapers at the bottom.
Indeed, the 70-200 2.8 fits attached to the 7D2 with grip.
I was able to configure the bag so the 70-200 with camera slots in the middle, the 17-55 is on one side, the 10-22 is on the other - I can also get a flash next to the 10-20.
I left the side with the 17-55 empty so that there is space for the 70-200 when one of the other lenses is mounted.
The strap seems to be very comfortable - more so than the Tamrac (which I find is a bit short).
Very impressed with materials and quality of the SpeedRacer.
Will post pics shortly in case it helps others make a decision on which bags to get!

As an aside, the Lowepro Flipside is a nice bag, perfect amount of storage for me and room to grow, but the waist strap sits too high. I can see why people cut the waist strap off the bag. As a storage or point A to B bag, it's great. But I was hoping for a bag I could take out (cycling, longer hikes, etc). Am now looking at an F-Stop Lotus.
