Shot this recently of my fiancee, I like it as it is, there was another shot where you could see the catchlight in both of her eyes (but it was still pretty dark on her left side), but it looked 'wrong' to me. So I ended up with this.

Thoughts?

Would prefer more of a Rembrandt look.

This is not right-right, but I would try to darken reflected light on her darker cheek. And darken background. but that's me.

Beautiful gal!

If you would like to share raw file, I would love to take a shot. I am not really sure, if it'll work as my set-up would be different for the thing I suggested, but I would like to try. :]

I have an idea for the shot as well if you want to share a raw file.

I'm cool with sharing a RAW file, what's the best way to do it?

I did this a few weeks ago, more the sort of thing you meant olafs osh?

FWIW, I think that you either have to split-light her face (as in the second image) or give us a bit more of the dark side. It doesn't look natural the way it is now IMO. Many possibilities but certainly at least a catch light in her left eye. I think the background will be OK either grey or black if there's more or less of her face showing.

I have put two in there, one has a catchlight in both eyes. :-)

I suspect that you will be a much happier guy if you do just a little work on her skin. ; )

Thanks, I like those edits, but yeah, the skin needs smoothing a bit. What did you do to the second edit? I like the gradient you put over it.

Is there a 'rule' that there should be a catchlight in both eyes then?

A little less shadow on the face, cleaned-up the hair and skin.

Just gave her the treatment I give to all my headshots. Beautiful young lady, you've done well. :)
