Do you have any experience using Puget System's recommended Premier Pro system?

My faithful old Dell XPS 9100 still does most everything well but, even with SSD for system and scratch it has has more than met its match with PP. It works but can be benchmarked with an hour glass. I've used Puget Systems machines in business and like their machines and service but none of them were asked to run PP.

If you have used the Puget Premier Pro System for your work I'd appreciate hearing about it. Are you happy with the results you are getting? Are you using the GeForce GTX 1070 or did you go with the 1080? Doing it again, would you make and configuration changes? Any other hints?

That seems like a very expensive system to run PP.

They've been around quite some time and are well respected.

The last time I paid someone to build a system for me was back in 2005/6, and I strongly considered Puget then. I decided to go with a more affordable builder, and got what I paid for. It was a monster system, but I had bad service and then they closed down. I was LUCKY to get the system and not be out the price I paid.

Puget or AVAdirect would be my choice now.

It says it's geared towards Premier, which is video editing. If that's you end goal that makes more sense.

Other than that, it looks great, if pricey.

Thanks for the replies.

In a former life I was responsible for the building or purchase and use of (way way too many) hundreds of machines for use in complex publishing and online environments. I learned the initial cost of systems is a relatively trivial factor compared with the benefits of longevity and the huge human costs of inferior performance.
