Canon 300mm f/4L IS

Anyone tried the canon 300mm f/4 for Motorsports? I've been kicking around getting one for local motocross races. Currently using a 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II and 7D II & 6D

Not a bad lens, I used one a few times for Motocross. Its sharp and has great AF.

good lens a bit softer in comparison with the 70-200 mark II , but does its job well. Sharp on F4.0 but better on F5.6.
make a lot of photos with this lens, I use it for motocross.

I found it to be slow focusing. Tended to hunt for the subject. I've tried it for motocross and surfing. Just not impressed at all with it.

so everyone has their own experience Eric, the lens works good for me, and i have a non IS versie, maybe there is a difference. testing and you know it.8-)
