currently on a Benq monitor --> https://www.amazon.com …iscontinued/dp/B007HSKSMI (external link)

great for gaming , but color accuracy when editing photos and Video is becoming a major pain , doing things twice or 3 times is getting really annoying

i think i've narrowed it down to this https://www.adorama.com/deup2716d.html (external link) , pretty much ready to order but ..
i'm no expert on monitors , so wanted to see if anyone had any input on this
Is this a good monitor for what i'm looking for ?
are there other better options? (similarly priced )

Thanks any advice would be appreciated

I don't have experience with that one, I got the UP2715K when I got my new system last year. It is double the resolution at 5K, 5210×2880 pixels, and I absolutely love it. They do seem to have dropped it off the Dell website now though. Coming from 1080p the 2560 monitors are a very nice jump in resolution, although with the extra three inches on the diagonal I would think the linear resolution at 109 PPI will be about the same. The 5K has the same hardware LUT for the colour as yours, and out of the box it is great. I also like the dell supplied monitor manager, that allows you to switch profiles on the fly between programs. You have the choice of manual or auto switching when you change programs. So you can have it use AdobeRGB when viewing LR or PS, and LR uses aRGB in all but the Develop module for displaying images. The when you switch to a browser it swaps to sRGB mode, so that even with a colour managed browser, all of those untagged images out there on the web display without issue. It even supports using the i1 Display Pro for calibrating the hardware LUT's. I'm actually running mine at only 175% in the scaling section of Win 10, which works very well, and is actually a bit smaller than native 2560 on screen. The recommended settings would be 100% for the 2560 display, and 200% for 5k, while they suggest 175 for 4K displays, but of course it depends on your eyesight, I'm a tad long sighted, and at a viewing distance of about 20" I like a bit smaller. I have a friend though who would need to run my monitor at 250% as a minimum.

So yes I would recommend that series of Dell monitors, the warranty is good too, zero hot pixels is good.
