I reworked a collection of American Avocet images in December and forgot to share them. These birds are rare in these parts. All shot from the ground pod. The last shot has been sitting unprocessed until now.

They show up here in winter wearing their non-breeding colors. They seem to run in cycles of good numbers to very few, never staying more than a month. Very rarely we'll see one show up in late summer still showing some rust, but that's about once every few years. Steve
