Any criticism would be welcomed....this was my first trip with this lens, and I am still a newbie in general.

Let me know if you have feedback.

Thanks.

Hi!

They look good. My favorites are the first (the walking bridge and what I assume is a motor vehicle bridge above, with a splitting ramp in the distance) and the fifth, the b&w of the buildings. These two are great! The others work for landscape and cityscape views.

I'd boost all of them a bit in a tool such as Lightroom to make them a bit bolder. Raise contrast, drop the blacks, raise the whites. Use "sky sauce" (drop blue luminance in color images with sky and clouds).

With the Sigma 10-20, I assume you have a crop sensor camera, which suggests effective focal lengths of 16-32mm (Canon) or 15-30mm (Nikon). Go into Richmond with it and go wide (short focal length, 10mm). Play with your lens and see what you can get. Take a day (or two or three) and keep it completely wide. Shoot buildings and people to the extent you are mostly comfortable doing so. (A bit of discomfort is a Good Thing!)

You may be a newbie, but you're already doing fine. The Sigma will allow you to do things you might not ordinarily do. Do them. Have fun! You won't hurt anything.

Keep up the Good Work!

Thanks Mathogre!

I appreciate the advice on the processing. I have had my 60d for about 6 months and have loved having it.

I typically shoot birds and wildlife, but this lens is forcing me to be a bit more creative. I will definitely take your advice and just shoot at the widest focal length for a spell to get more used to it!

Thanks again!
