Gitzo 1541T with a Markins Q3T ballhead, holding a gripped 60D with 100-400mm L attached.

Fully extended, the tripod is taller than I am (yes I am vertically challenged) and completely steady even with that setup on top, which is my heaviest lens/camera combo. Although I don't think I'd be crazy enough to walk away from it "in the field" so to speak.

Soon to be paired with a Really Right Stuff L-plate as well.

What is the longest/heaviest lens you've used on the Sidekick?

dude your tripod is drowning

It is okay, the tripod has seen worse (deeper water + seaweed). :)

I don't seem to have any full body shots, only head shots.

I used to have tripod setup very similar to this. Just with 486RC2, was good for the time it lasted (centre column broke). :)

Nice little noob tripod I picked up at BestBuy on clearance. Manfrotto MKC3-H01. Works pretty well for my needs.

Here's our Gitzo 1541T (rated at 17.6 lbs fully extended) with a Wimberley II. Its a pretty usable replacement for a low tripod like the Kirk Mighty Low Boy (external link). Obviously it would not be wise to use it fully extended with this kind of weight. Also, the center column can be removed (external link) for ground level mounting.
