Lens cap fail...

I'm sorry-- I thought this was the tripod thread, not the "show the front element of your lens" thread.

Your buddy must have really liked your setup. It looks like he even went with an Acratech head.

Hmm, being a pistol grip head certainly changes things. Did you try turning the adjustment wheel? Without that they simply go to a preset "squeeze" so any contraction of the ball will indeed make it looser.

Yup -- it helped, but didn't completely fix it. I'll try it again in the cold and see what happens.

yep. Best head out there IMHO. I like his legs as well though, I'm considering either his or maybe the 113s (I need to see just how small they are) or maybe a feisel as a hiking tripod rig. I LOVE my 313s for landscape work, because I don't hike more than a few miles, but I'm working on a project on mount washington right now and the 5lb 313 is a bit much weight wise, but also collapsed length wise.

I'm liking the leg wrap, don't suppose you have a tutorial for it or something similar?

This thread needed a bump.

My current setup: RRS BH-55 with LR clamp mounted on an RRS TVC-33 tripod. Best support I've ever owned.

I don't have anything that I have done - I can probably put something together though. If you google "Paracord Storage Sinnet", that will give you the idea. I don't know what the knot is really called, if anything.

I don't remember where I actually learned to do this - I was wanting to do a long turks head, but I kept messing it up.

Using the wraps that I did, each 12" sections holds about 45' of cordage.

Nice looking legwarmers you've got mounted. I have the originals from Gitzo but yours looks awsome, and you made them yourself. Great!
