Does that make the RRS TVC series then a Bugatti Veyron of tripods?

I guess that would mean, my Manfrotto is the Honda Civic of pods.

Here's my monopod without the mono.

That's exactly how I've compared them in the past, though I called Gitzos Ferraris. ;)

Yes a $4 magnet. I was trying to show that it was strong enough to hold a 100-400mm lens.
It's normally attached to my Benro monopod.

Don't suppose you fancy making a tutorial for it? Looks really handy and I could certainly find some uses for something like it.

switched out my acratech GV2 for a arcaswiss p0. So far so good, I love the simplicity with the massive dial. I actually wish I could remove the panning portion all together....

I'm not sure if you are kidding me or not but I don't think a tutorial is required. I just went to a local hardware store to purchase the Magnetic Utility Hook (external link). Then removed the hook and replaced it with a lock & washer and a 1/4"-20 bolt. I then mounted the monopod (external link) head that I already have.

I also use it for table top shooting.

Nah I was serious, wasn't sure how it was attached to the ballhead and didn't realise the magnetic part was basically already put together. I've managed to find a similar hook for sale in the UK so have ordered that and I have some 1/4"-20 bolts left over. The product page for the hook you have says the magnet is 3-3/8", surely that's not the diameter right? The one I've ordered is nearly a third of that and even a little bit stronger.

Ben, I'd like to get your impressions on your new ballhead. I'm really intrigued by it.
