Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 carbon fiber tripod with a Manfrotto 498RC2 Ball Head with quick release, holding a Canon EF 100-400L Lens. Was using to photograph surfers on our local beach. Hoping to upgrade to a nice Gitzo soon and a gimbal. Be good for birds and surfers. ;-)a

Very best,

I purchased this same exact setup based on your recommendation of it in a post about 3 years ago. Still a perfect working unit, thanks for taking the time to help people like you do.

I just ordered a Manfrotto MK055XPRO3-BH for $299. Seems liked a good deal, will post pictures when I receive it. Right now I have a targus monopod lol. I did have a vanguard Vanguard Alta Pro 263AT with the center column that goes horizontally. Loved that one but I damaged one of the locks and couldn't repair it so I sold it for cheap.
