I'm considering taking my 3 yr old into the city for a city shoot in a gown I just got for her. Initially I was planning on studio and a park, but I'd like to also try the city if possible. I plan on taking an assistant with me to help. This dress has a train and my main concerns are 1. safety and 2. clean ground to walk on so I don't ruin the dress.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

NOT MY PHOTO but I'd like to go for something similar to this except not being in the middle of the road.

does it have to be on the street?
If not, Central Park has many places with the Upper West Side in the background - also Brooklyn sites with the Manhattan skyline in the background....line up early to be in the first elevator atop the Empire State or Top of The Rock...early morning on pedestrain part of Brooklyn bridge. Your kid will have to buy in to this and traveling around the city in that dress may mpot be fun for her...maybe it will.

Times Square is traffic free - that elevated ramp park on the west side whose name escapes me.

just google NYC wedding photography portfolios. probably some interesting places there will show up that are also kid friendly.

there's tons of buildings there with beautiful columned facades.

Inside Grand Central Station there are grand empty rooms during non-rush hour...but I am not a fashion/wedding photog and don't know if there are permit issues.
