Did anyone else see the feature on Abelardo Morell's work entitled Camera Obscura on CBS Sunday Morning? I saw the exhibit and the lecture when it was here in Chicago at the Art Institute a few years back and it was wonderful. Talk about alternative gear ha ha... If you get a chance to se the piece it is wonderful. Heres a bit of background on the work.

Just today?

This morning ......

If you are on the west coast you might still be able to see it.

The work probably wouldn't get much attention in forum land but it is truly creative and unique and forum land, for the most part, likes safe, repetitious and pretty.

I posted earlier this morning about similar herd mentality among photographers. Fortunately there's nothing keeping us with the herd.

Caught the show and segment this morning and had seen him previously. Funny that he was inspired by his students, I remember turning a shoebox into a simple camera obscura and using 4x5 Polaroid (I think) to take pictures back when I studied photography.
