Wide angle lens recommendations for aircraft museums

I am planning trips to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and the Air force museum in the coming months.
I was hoping for wide angle lens advice.
Do either of these Sigma lenses look good for airplanes in museums? Will the 20mm cause wing distortion like a fisheye?
Are there any others that can be recommended. My camera is a Canon 6D
Thanks for the help.

Heh, I was just going to suggest a fisheye. NVM...

What are you shooting?
Which lenses do you already own?
Have you been to the Air & Space Museum before?

Need more info to make a realistic suggestion. Thanks.

With film, the 20 was one of my favorite lenses. Yes, it will distort if you get too close, but what's the alternative? You could back off a little & crop in PP. Or try a pano with a shorter lens.
When I was there years ago, I didn't find it to be a big place, so don't expect much & try to solve the usual problems as they crop up.

Hey thanks for the responses.
Current lenses include 300mmL, 100-400mmL, 100mmL, 28-135mm
Flash is 430Ex
These lenses work great for airshows however in a museum you usually cannot back far enough away to get the whole airplane in, hence my question.
I have been to both Smithsonians air museums. I want to go back to the Udvar-Hazy museum to get better pics
The Air Force Museum will be this spring and the navy museum later this year.

Thank you, would you buy the 20mm or the 24mm?
Any thoughts on flashes? Between my wife and I we could use 2 flash units slaved together?

How about the 16-35 f4. It's only slightly more expensive than the lenses you're looking at. I've found it very useful for shooting aircraft. Granted the shots below were taken outdoors, not in a museum, but you get the idea. You can see how much distortion there is at the focal lengths noted.

Don't fisheyes cause distortion?

Yes, they do, but well handled the distortion is not a problem and may even be advantageous.

In the very cramped interiors of some aircraft, the fisheye is unbeatable:

Fisheyes introduce practically NO distortion when your subjects are circular:

Lastly, a fisheye can net you some unique perspectives and images no other lens can:

Of course, fisheye lenses are specialist tools. I'd still have a regular wide angle AND a fisheye.

I was just opening this thread thinking fisheye, too.

It does depend on what type you get and how you use it. It is also possible to post-process the image.

Why bother with a fisheye? It will give you 180 degree field of view. You can't get close with anything else in a single shot.

A fisheye with a stereographic projection will look much more natural.

This fisheye lens review of a 12mm FE (which uses stereographic projection) may give you some helpful insight:

It is possible to de-fish the images. This article and video cover how to do that:

If fisheye isn't for you, this lens might be worth a look:

C&C always welcomed...
On my images, of course, and on my words as well--as long as it's constructive :).
