lose some of the Stickies?

Wondering if you ever thought of removing some of the stickies? Some are outdated and or people haven't added current info. It just seems like a waste of space, always scrolling down to get to the current threads.

Do you know about customizing your view by using the "Hide Stickies" command near the top of the page in a forum (not in a thread)? It's there for all forums except AMASS Forum Software Talk and Forum Talk.

that only works if you take the time to sign in. Call me a lurker, but a lot of time I can use the search feature to find threads I'm interested in without needing to sign in.

If you are using the search feature to look for things, how does unsticky-ing the sticky threads help? Is there some sort of search filter that only looks at stickies?

Never did get an answer to my question, not sure how the stickies are "getting in the way" if you are just using the search tool? Whether a thread is a sticky or not doesn't prevent it from showing up in the search results.

Maybe OP would be satisfied if Pekka applies a warning label to certain threads, while leaving them available for others to decide on their own, the relative merits of the thread:

Warning: thread contains outdated product information or anachronistic photographic concepts

I certainly would nominate any thread that discusses 'need for +1EV FEC in eTTL with Canon 20D and 30D'
The Canon 70D users could read the thread still, while everyone else ignores it.

stickies aren't getting in the way of a search, per say. but if a person doesn't find the need to always log in then it's a matter of always scrolling through a bunch of out dated threads and have beed stuck to the top on the list.

again just a suggestion.

So you are visually searching for something in the various forums, and not using the magnifying glass search tool?

Again, just clicking that checkbox when you log in would save you alot of this grief, because you can hide the stickies and never worry about them again. Sure Pekka or the mods can go through the stickies and unsticky a few here and there, but for the most part, many of the stickies evolve as newer models come out, so having all the history in that one thread is handy.
