I used the following
5D4, 7D2 and 1D4 as back up.
EF 500mm f/4L IS II, packed both T-Cons, never used the 2X this time.
But unlike with the 1st gen IS lens, I did essentially leave the 1.4X on all the time for 700mm, and this was always mounted to 5D4.
Which is nearly the same effective field of view I used for a decade with 1.3X 1D bodies on the older 500mm IS v1. Apparently this is my preferred FOV. Anything longer and I can't track a moving subject well. I used 1.4x often enough on the old combo, but it was never "default" only grabbed the T-Con when needed. Going down to REAL 500mm FOV on the 5D4, and with the better performance of the new lens designs, the 1.4x became the default.
The 7D2 was almost welded to the 100-400mm MkII
The only other lenses I used were the 18-135mm STM on 7D2, and the 16-35mm f/4L IS on occasion on the 5D4.
Liz was shooting with a 60D with the SIGMA 100-400mm C on it, and that was a very nice combo. We traded the 18-135mm back and forth a few times.
We also packed the tine 24mm pancake and 50 1.8 STM for around the campfire shooting, but I don't think we ever mounted either.
