I'll try to keep this as brief as possible, not least because this is an e-mail I really never wanted to have to write.

Ever since our failed Kickstarter campaign (which we wrote about in more detail here: tri.gg/medium), Triggertrap has been struggling. We've gone through several rounds of lay-offs to keep the company afloat, but ultimately, ended up being unable to save Triggertrap.

Today, we are announcing that the company is going to close down.

If you have any questions about the company closing down, please refer to our FAQ:

https://medium.com …d=%5BUNIQID%5D#.z34fegzax (external link)

** A COUPLE OF THINGS TO NOTE **

PRODUCT - We have a little bit of stock left in our warehouse. If you want to buy any of it at less than half price, please head to shop.triggertrap.com TODAY. The shop will be closing in the next couple of weeks and stock is limited so please don't delay.

SUPPORT - We will no longer have anyone available to do technical support. The FAQ (linked above) also has links to all of our technical FAQs. If you have additional questions, please refer to our Triggertrap User Group on Reddit - tri.gg/reddit . We will try to check in here from time to time to help.

What a shame that I had never heard of TriggerTrap until this very moment. If I had known of TriggerTrap and their products, I probably would have bought something.

Rick, you write "we" and "our" as if you were connected to TriggerTrap in some way.........was this the case?

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I was one of the original backers for this project and was sorely disheartened when it failed - but then, i understood the nature of the kickstarter approach anyway and you win some and oyu lose some.

In fairness to triggertrap, they did allow the backers to purchase items at well-reduced rates from their store and so i got cables and remote triggering accessories to go with the app i had already installed.

I hope rick_reno has success in the future and that any unhappy backers allow those negative feelings to pass.

Sad part is that it wasn't until I read this that I realized that you had exactly what I was looking for.
I went to the website hoping that you still had stock available but instead, everything shows as sold out.
I was able to purchase the mobile kit from Amazon, it'll be here on Tuesday.

Really sad to hear that you are closing.
I know it's a little on the late side but, thank you for putting the product out there.

Why would you care if I have any connection to Triggertrap? They're gone, so I have no connection with them.

I guess I am just interested in the lives of the folks here on POTN, especially those things that go on with the members here that are photography related. If Triggertrap's demise is something that affected you personally, I'd want to offer condolences.

I'd also be interested in hearing about your experiences with Triggertrap while they were in existence, if you were involved with them. I would love to have an opportunity to get involved in some way with a photography products business, and hearing about how you got involved with Triggertrap, and what your role with them was, is something that may give me insight into potential opportunities that may be available to me. In other words, learning all about how someone else did something might help me to do the same type of thing.

I would love to hear any insights, experiences, and tips that you could share.

I am not asking about any current connection you have with them, for, as you say, they are gone. What I was asking for was info about any past connection you may have had with Triggertrap back when they existed.

I received my TriggerTrap on Monday, so far it's actually a nice product and I'm finding it to be amazing the things that it will do.
I was able to acquire the "extra cable" that fits my 1D Mark II N so now I can use it on both cameras.
I wish I had known about this before they closed.

If Tom isn't interested, let me know. I'm interested in obtaining one for my daughter.

I'll decline, because I have huge troubles figuring out how to use anything like this, where one device "talks to" another device. .It could be a useful tool for me, but only if it came with unlimited phone support.......which obviously this doesn't as the company no longer exists.

Hi Dre,
I really am interested in the TriggerTrap but, I see that Jpatten has not been able to obtain one. I guess I was really lucky, I seriously think that I was able to buy the last one that Amazon had. So, with that in mind, if you are serious about selling it, offer it to Jpatten first and if for some reason he decides not to, I am definitely interested.

I'm finding that the TriggerTrap is a really good tool to have in your bag because of everything it is capable of doing.
