Any UK based wedding photographers wish to recommend some good suppliers/printers of wedding albums?

I mainly shoot families, children and events. I have second shot a few weddings last year, shot a couple of weddings for friends of friends and this year I am taking fully fledged bookings - 6 so far for the year. Anyways, I want to offer some top quality albums, prints are dead, prints in an album are dead, I make a lot of 'collages' from shoots which I sell on canvases (which I also thought were dead until I started advertising them -? ).

Five of my bookings this year do not want albums, but one does. They are all aware of my relative lack of experience in this field, but are happy with my portfolio of other work - I am going to the photography show in March where I hope to get some ideas for albums, again, which I have explained to this client. In the meantime I thought I would ask for recommendations so I don't get blown away by sales patter and end up going with something not as versatile/good quality.

Would love to hear from peeps. Thanks in advance.

Are you after UK based suppliers only?

If you're not too fussed, try Graphistudio (external link). Italy based but have UK reps you can call if you have questions or problems. Good quality albums with good margins. We've used them for over 6 years. No complaints.

For UK suppliers, Loxley Colour (external link) can't be beaten on quality and service. Although we don't get the albums from them, we do get all other photo products from them. Prints, Wall hangings, Customised USB's etc.

Added to the above, I have had positive experiences from UK supplier SIM Imaging (http://simimaging.co.uk (external link)). I believe they will also be at the Photography Show so you can check them out. A big bonus I find from SIM is the turnaround time from order to delivery is normally 2 weeks.

Canon 7D, 350D + Grip : Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM : Canon 50mm f1.8
Canon 580 EXII + Bowens Gemini 200W + 400 W with Elinchrom Skyports
Giottos MTL9361B + MH5001 Head
Lots of enthusiasm

Thanks to above posters. I saw some Graphi albums and loved them, I don't think the margins will be there for me at the moment. I've pretty much narrowed it down to nPhoto and SIM, just going to check out there products at the photography show next week.

Thanks again.

We tried Sim in the early days when we first started. But found the quality of their products a bit inconsistent. Mostly the print quality was substandard. Albums always looked a bit yellow no matter how many different ways we adjust the image files. When compared to Loxley, they are way behind on that front. Maybe they've improved now, so it's worth checking them out.

But agree with uk_singh, their turnaround and customer service is brilliant.

Another recommendation for Graphistudio. I would contact their UK office and talk with the staff there. They are really helpful and will talk you through the range and also provide suggestions as to what might suit you best. Another benefit for Graphistudio is the fact that they will not sell to thew public unlike most other suppliers. This means that your costs are your business and not able to be researched by potential clients.
