Repair or Replace Sigma 20mm F/1.8

Bought a used lens here not long ago. Figured it would be worth messing around with. Aperture blades stick randomly. Went out and shot with it one day and it drove me nuts. Sent to CRIS, and the estimate is $169. I've already got $100 in it. So, $269 doesn't seem worth it compared to what I've seen working units selling for. If I can get my $100 back out of it, I'm wondering what is comparable in IQ? I had thought about a Canon 10-18mm. But, will I miss the speed of this prime? Especially in 100% working order.

I don't think you should get it repaired, it's not the best lens to start with. Sell it as is on Ebay to get some of your money back.

You may like the Samyang 16mm f/2 lens, which is sharper and still lets in a lot of light. It's a manual lens (focus and aperture), but that shouldn't be a problem at all for such a wide-angle lens.

I'd love a Samyang. Will have to look as samples on a crop. I would love to have AF though. Just for speed. But, may sacrifice it for the 16mm.

Buy an inexpensive used Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 and be done with it.

I was looking into these as well. For the price, I'm wondering if I might go for a used 85mm f/1.8 and a 24mm f/2.8 STM and stick to my all prime idea. Hmmm choices. A friend wants me to shoot a wedding for them. I've already told them that I have not been into shooting for awhile, and have never done a wedding, and one dead lens...so......We shall see.

EDIT: There is local Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 for sale. Looking into that now as well.

So I was able to get a tiny bit more for the 20mm than I had in it.
