Hi,

I thought I'd share some picture's from my Honeymoon in Kenya recently.
I'm not good at my hobby yet but the pics should give an idea of how amazing the animals in the Masai Mara are. I can't wait to go there again already. :)

We were fortunate in that our Guide managed to find every animal we wished to see: lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffe, hippo, rhino, buffalo etc etc.

I used my Canon 20D with EF 70-300 IS USM lens. I would have preferred a lens greater than 300mm but 3 weeks ago this wasn't an option...and then two day's ago I learnt that my family have ordered an EF 100-400 IS USM L for my birthday later this month; great timing! All pics are handheld, I never got around to using the beanbag I took especially for the trip. Now I wish I had though!

Thank you. I can't rate Kenya highly enough - we had a fantastic time there. It was definitely the very best experience we have had.
We were fortunate in that we had 10 game drives during our stay and for all but 2 of them we had the Guide and the Landrover to ourselves.

It is a very special feeling to listen to the 'silence' of the Mara at sunrise while parked in the middle of a pride of Lions. :D

Fantastic safari series! Thanks for sharing these awesome pictures.

What kind of $$$ are we talking about for a trip like this? I still have two kidneys. :(

Can be reasonable if you go in a small group and self drive and organise your own accomodation ... at least in Namibia and South Africa. Dunno about Kenya. The national parks are very good value if you pay your own way. The problem is the group mix and the flight there and back. I had a sucky experience one time with one particular 'guest' on a trip who was bonkers (GF of one of my best friends!!) She wasn't a traveller ... or even interested in engaging with the trip or enjoying the animals.

Do they allow wild animal feeding there? She could have been a good bait.

Very nice photos! It looks like you had a great trip. Did you happen to get any decent pictures of the hippos? I love hippos, but still haven't seen one in person yet (not even at the zoos I've been to!!).
