Give this a try:

Right click the Google Chrome shortcut

Select Properties

Select the Compatibility tab.

Select "Disable visual themes"

Click Apply, then OK

Retest

Is your display calibrated? Do any other apps have problems?

i've never calibrated ,, i have a dual monitor situation going on.. i used to use firefox .. but was having issues with plugins running constantly .. so i started using google chrome.. i prefer it over IE .. however i get these wierd colors that i didnt get in firefox or IE .. its where it transitions from one color to another , or highlights to shadows .. its pretty ugly and noticable .. but only in images .. not in video

The original post does not sound like a calibration issue...

What OS are you using. Be specific, Windows 7 32bit or 64 bit, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, etc. I can't offer much help with a Mac product but I would post whatever version you are using just so you are informative about your problem.

Something that was typical of some older versions of Chrome was enabling the hardware acceleration setting. THis was known to cause a yellowish cast to a screen. Perhaps your "mustardy" description. To check it and disable follow the steps below:

Open Chrome and type "chrome://settings/" (without the quotation marks) into the address bar. You can also use the drop down Google menu accessed at the three dots or horizontal bars. This is usually found at the top right or left of your screen.

Hit the enter key. This should get you to the settings screen. Scroll to "Show advanced settings" which is usually down near the bottom of the screen.

Click on "Show advanced settings"

Scroll to the "System" section which is usually near the bottom and uncheck the option "Use hardware acceleration".

Hit the three dots or the three horizontal lines which get you to the Google menu and select Exit. By the way did you exit from Chrome this way on my previous recommendation? If not the setting relative to themes may have not been saved.

Could also be a color space issue. Do you consistently see it with a specific image you could point us to?

Based on the OP originally stating "when using google chrome.. images often , but not always have a weird mucky green / mustardy color but on internet explorer colors show properly always" I do not believe this to be a color space issue.

I did a screen shot and it actually caught the colors

top one was captured when google displayed .. bottom when using IE to display

hopefully you can see the difference and I'm not just losing it:oops:

Wow, hardware acceleration is virtually always the issue with a yellowish tint to Google Chrome. All I can suggest is you go back into the settings routine and verify that the changes you made indeed "took".
