First, a pair of baby Great Horned Owls. It was a beautiful warm sunny day so the parents were tucked away in the shade of a distant tree. This pair of owlets was hugging the crotch of a large pine tree. Right in the middle of a subdivision. I suspect they'll be fledging very soon.

And of course, what Cape Coral is better known for, its endangered Burrowing Owls. I was actually surprised to find any out and about in the heat. This guy was in beside the library property.

Wonderful photographs Ian!

I had the pleasure of meeting Ian this evening at the same Great Horned Owl location. We had exchanged small talk for a few minutes when I noticed his POTN neckstrap and then the real conversation began. What a great guy!

I'm also on a month-long bird outing in Florida too, although I'm just a first-season Florida rookie, unlike Ian who is quite the Florida winter veteran!

Cheers,
Bryan
