The default options for cell info in library view don't give me the information I require. I can change them to what I want in View > Options, but after I finish a session and switch off, they reset to the original defaults. Is there any way I can make my requirements the default, and thus available immediately after switch on?

I have LR 5.7.

In "view options" I changed all settings in Loupe view to things I do not normally use.
Grid view was also expanded to things I do not normally use.

Closed LR and re-opened and the settings were saved.

... can toggle through with the letter "I" in Loupe view.

By me also (LR CC 2015.8, Windows 10) the four grid cell header labels are sticky - i.e. don't change through countless opening and closings of the application until manually changed or Use Defaults is pressed.

Thank you for your answers guys.

Unfortunately the plot has thickened.

My laptop (where I only use Lightroom to cull images when not at home) behaves exactly as you have described, in other words it doesn't lose the view settings. But my PC still does.

I'll have to wade through all the different settings and see if I can spot any differences.

Regards.

Just an idea - Possible that LR preferences file is being deleted by your OS ? may happen if system is set to save defaults to external drive or the cloud - or your preferences folder has bad permissions that prevent Lightroom from writing to it.

All my files and programs are on my PC, but the idea of a deleted preferences file is well worth looking into.

Thanks for the link: I've had a quick look at it and it certainly looks promising.

I won't have time tonight, but I'll get onto it tomorrow morning.

Thanks again guys.

Fixed!!

When I looked at the preferences file (I didn't know there was one until you guys responded) one of its attributes was 'Hidden'. I unchecked it and all is now well.

Thanks again for all your help. :-D
