I'll support Tamron when Tamron decides to support all the people who have ALREADY supported them.

meh...they offer a 6 year warranty on their lenses...pretty sure that's offering up support...they are supposedly charging people that buy grey market, and/or don't have a warranty anymore...so they're charging people that are taking risks by buying cheaper, and or used...that's one of the risks of buying cheaper...

I've had the 17-50 non-VC. Nice enough lens, but it couldn't seem to focus in lower light. Not much different than the Canon 50mm f/1.8. Also had the 24-70 VC. Nothing against the lens. I just don't thing f/2.8 zooms are worth the bother. Not interested in the Canon, either.

kinda hard to compare an old Tamron lens from back in the day with the old focus motors in them and all compared to these new ones with the ultrasonic motors that are faster and more accurate. the previous 70-200 VC seem to get very good reviews and most users loved them

Nothing but praise for my Tamron 70-200 IQ...and it's black too!

My Tamron 17-50 (non-VC) is the most accurately and consistently focusing lens I have ever owned, as documented by FoCal analyses. No problems in low light. The reviews of the 70-200 VC (the current model, not the one just announced) are, and have been from the beginning, consistently very positive, and are consistent with my experiences. The 150-600s (either model) are quite good, and you would have to spend a lot more for marginal improvements.

I understand the logic behind OEM-only arguments, but these are not your father's Tamron lenses. They have stepped up to the plate with their recent lenses (and some of the older ones mentioned above). If I only purchased Canon I would have many fewer lenses, and would not know about these quality options. The 6-year US warranty and outstanding service provided by Tamron take nearly all of the anxiety out of my purchase decisions. There is no reason that Canon can't do better on the warranty front.

I want to see reviews on the 10-24. I have been wanting to go full frame but reality is I don't need to and this having a great review might tip the scales back to staying on crop.
