I would generally go by the number on the last picture and the number on the folder said picture is placed on the card. Ex: 7549 in folder 100 would be 7549 clicks, 7549 in 102 would be 27549.

Totally unreliable. Any user can reset the frame count or the folder number at any time. Putting any card in the camera with a photo already on it will cause the count to start at that photo plus one. Folder and photo number mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about how many shots are on a camera. I could pick up this camera (if it had 153,298 photos on it) and reset folder and photos to 100 & 0001.
