Time Lapse - Intervall for Car Wash?

Thinking of doing a Time Lapse of me (hand) Washing my car (Sorry, no sexy girls in Daisy Dukes ).

What do you think would be the best intervall for this?

Say I would take one each second but only want one every third second, how do I do this easily = only choose every third image?

(For 1 hour each second this is 3600 images...so would prefer not doing it manually...)

Well one approach would be, how long do you want the film to run, and at what frame rate? Once you know that you know how many frames you will need. If you know how many frames you need, and how long the task will take it becomes very easy to work out the frame rate to record at.

I would also consider that you might want to set your maximum shutter speed to be 1/(2×FPS), where FPS is the rate at which you will be playing the timelapse back at. Although shutter timing is normally done at the recording frame rate, this might result in over long shutter speeds. Limiting to the playback speed should at least allow for the image to not look too choppy.

I agree with the above, figure out how long you want the final clip to be and at what frame rate then do the math backwards from that.

In my opinion, you should run a few short test segments at different rates and decide what looks best. Then, shoot the "real" video at your chosen rate. No tweaking needed!!!
