pretty fun shoot; tons of light, and good animation though Kiedis was sporting a walking cast which kept him reined in a bit. minor downsides was the presence of three live camera operators on small platforms in the pit, and fairly high stage monitors across most of the stage. there were also a dozen or so shooters but everyone moved around enough to keep it from being a logjam. if you are curious, here's my review (external link) of the show.

3 is not bad. Love the Flea jumping shot... and Chad was looking right AT you. Killer!

Nice set... I have not shot a lot of bands, and while I understand the logic, that "3 from the pit and git" seems like it must result in the loss of some great performance moments. Do bands commonly have a dedicated photographer that covers the rest of the show?

thanks guys.

Benon, it's Josh Klinghoffer on guitar now. he's solid, brings his own thing to the older songs.

some bands do hire tour photogs, but i would say that most don't.

it's true that not being able to shoot more than 3 definitely limits you for what you can capture (eg, the jump shot I got of Flea was the only time he did it in the first three, and so i kinda got lucky being in the right spot at the right time), but i can definitely see the band's point - i wouldn't want a dozen lenses pointed at me for the whole show.

Ahh yeah, the same dude for a while.

Any word on a Frusciante tour? (not that he would bring it to Australia!)

I still can not believe I missed out on this in Boston, I'm sure it was a hell of a show.

Great photos by the way!
