Has anyone seen this before? I think it's a cool little project. I want to do something similar, but with an ergonomic keyboard. I wouldn't want to use scrabble letters either. I guess that's cool if you are a scrabble fan, but I would rather have someone with a great hand do some calligraphic letters. I touch type, so something cool like that would be fine, I don't need to hunt & peck. But I really want to find a local wood worker with whom I could work to build this. I can breakdown the electronics, if s/he can build/cut the wood and finish it for me, and find someone with the hand to paint the letters/key names before we lacquer them.

Yeah, I've seen a few of the wooden ones on Amazon... but none are ergonomic.

Actually, the one that John linked to looks far more ergonomic than the one you linked to. The one you linked to looks like the layout and spacing were designed to "look cool" with the oversized Scrabble® letters, while the one John linked to looks like it is designed conventionally, with nothing more than usability and sustained hand comfort in mind.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Neither of them are ergonomic. That was what I was saying in my OP, "I want to do something similar, but with an ergonomic keyboard." In the OP I also talk about how I don't like the scrabble letters and what I'd rather do instead.

I definitely would not call the one John linked as designed for hand comfort. It's just a standard straight-line keyboard. It's really not much different than the keyboard that the guy started with in the DIY project:

Here's an example of what I mean by ergonomic keyboard, where it's split by hands and angled so you don't have to jam your wrists together to type. I have a couple of these, one wired and one wireless but cannot seem to find the wireless one (it's gotta be lost in the attic somewhere and who knows if it still works, and I'd like do this project with a wireless, rather than wired keyboard).
