Bolivar Lighthouse Upper Tx Coast.
1St ~5:15pm, 2d ~45 minutes later. Reason for the small apertures is two-fold, get better color saturation with longer exposures and get the stars!

Couple of Canon bodies, a couple of Canon lens, few gadgets all stuffed in a bag...and a stick, and a tripod.

You won't either. Only the very brightest can burn through the humidity, haze, out right smog, and remember that this is only 50 miles from Americas 4th largest city so light pollution level is horrendous.

Sorry, In the OP I was referring to the star-burst effect that you see with the sun.

Yes. The one is 1/40th and the 2nd is 30 sec exposures.
