"The Launch"

Hi everyone. I've been AWOL from POTN for quite a while. I thought that I'd try and get active again. Hopefully I won't take so long to post my next image.

Here's a shot, from May 26, 2015, of an adult Pale Chanting Goshawk taking off from a branch Etosha National Park in northern Namibia. If you ever get a chance to visit there do so.

In the park your are required to stay in your vehicle, for valid safety reasons, so shooting from the windows can sometimes be challenging. Fortunately the light was behind us and I was able to wait it out as it perched for a few minutes before taking off.
