DTBaan wrote in post #19282468 oh ok, I got confused for a moment. the a1 pretty much destroyed their a9 line up lol. the new color is pretty good that I dont need to change the wb in post for the most part. it's something else to look forward to for the a74. I've mentioned to others that the canon mirrorless are about the size of an entry canon dslr :P I think I'm done with Sony on both camera and lens, sort of. I only have the 200-600 lens in mind that I'll get sometime next year for some bird shooting or something. Yup it’s going to be interesting what they do with the A9 but I see it as a low resolution option The the A1. 24 MP vs 50 mp. It’s why I don’t think the A9III will increase MP but stay at 24 in order to protect the A1. I’m seriously looking at maybe picking up an A9II used but as that body is about to hit two years old I’m wondering if the refresh is around the corner. Not just the bokeh but the sharpness and micro contrast is superb here! Absolutely love it. -Omar- Flickr

What’s your camera setup looking like these days? A 200-600 would be a trophy piece to have for sure! Monster lens. I would recommend waiting for a new announced camera. The colors on the new sony cameras is much better and worth getting. I've been using the a7s3 more over the a7r3 because of it.

The colors on the new sony cameras is much better and worth getting. I've been using the a7s3 more over the a7r3 because of it. my main setup is still the sony since I have mostly sony lenses. Currently playing with leica and I think and hope I'm done with the brand because it's digging deep into my bank account lol. I have the nikon z fc on order. been waiting for new batches and rumor shows that they expect more in october. I also picked up a d850 when It was on sale couple months ago. not really sure where I am going with the d850, but it's probably the last best dslr made imo. all i see are new mirrorless cameras, lenses for the new mounts, and discontinuing of the non popular dslr lenses. the sharpness on the lens is good, but the 50gm blows it when it comes to sharpness and bokeh. the 50lux gives a dreamy look that I love though I'm currently trying to decide which setup I would take with me if I go on a trip. it's really hard to decide, sony for better iso performance and lens option or leica for it's unique look. I've been leaning more towards the leica. decisions decisions. Interesting that the colors are different. Why is that? Is their a new algorithm being used? Surprising that it isn’t pushed to the other cameras. Or is it sensor based (would be odd if it’s tied to this as I think about colors as more of a software item). -Omar- Flickr

That’s quite the collection! You have toes dipped in almost every segment except canon lol I would feel stretched too thin but I get it as well! Are we going to call the Sony 50 1.2 The New Lux ![]() I think on a trip your going to need two cameras with what you have. I would go super light weight for evenings (going out before dinner all the way to the end of the night). During the day get out your best landscape shooter with a versatile zoom. I always use the 16-35 f/2.8 like 90% of the time when traveling. But we all shoot differently. Sony has been working on their colors since it was one of the major weakness. I’ve noticed the slight change from a7r and a7r3, and now more pleasant and noticeable with the a7s3. I’m hearing that the a1 also has the new colors. No idea how the colors work, nikon and sony, using the same sensor would have different colors.

No idea how the colors work, nikon and sony, using the same sensor would have different colors. I actually do have the canon in mind lol. Still dreaming about the 200 1.8. I just don’t do much portrait to put it into good use. the new canon sensors are suppose to be better with no banding issues. Let’s not forget fuji too, had that in mind haha. Chose Nikon z fc over fuji though. I think fuji is too expensive for a crop. Can get the a7c full frame over the tx4 crop and I would have to get fuji lenses. The 50gm would actually fall into the noctilux class of lens since it is 1.2 ߘ itݢs not a f/0.95 but they have a 50 1.2 that they call noctilux. The newer 50 1.4 for the leica SL mirrorless is suppose to be better than the smaller M lens. Sharper and better bokeh balls. But the one for the M has better bokeh fall off and a more dreamier look. Yeah I’d like to have the smaller set up. I was really happy with the original a7 and the 3 lens that came out when the camera was released. 55 1.8, 35 2.8, 24-70 f4. They were so light all together that it was not a hassle to carry around. Used the 24-70 most of the time, next the 35 and 55 as the least. 16-35 would be awesome for the cruise interior. I want to go on a cruise so bad but the virus seems to be a problem onboard >< Are you taking lots of pictures with the 50gm? dont forget the feet pics :P Interesting. I have to look into the color grading being improved as i wasn't aware of it. A primary driver of me switching my camera out, beyond my increase in image taking, is that the A1 and to an extent the A2 handle the banding conducted by indoor LED lights better than other Sony Cameras (Possibly the A7S3 handles it well also). I came up on this issue shooting images of my son and noticed the LED banding. Realized that now im forced to shoot a lower shutter speed to mitigate that problem. Thats a temporary solution but i want a permanent solution as its a pain point. DTBaan wrote in post #19283122 oh sorry forgot about the ramen haha it's their special 'kakuni deluxe' kakuni is the braised/stewed pork you see in the center of the bowl. That sounds amazing. Similarly to how Nikon was able to extra great sensors using Sony sensors as a base. Yeah the Leica 50 is legendary for its features. Its character that is difficult to replicate anywhere else. In terms of small lenses have you looked at the new sigmas that were announced? 24 F2 90 F2.8 Small and compact. Taking lots of pics with the 50 1.2 but jump to the 35 1.2 as well (i find the 35 range better for story telling as you get a bit more of the environment). And yes lots of detail shots as well. That sounds amazing. Havent visited a ramen spot since Covid began. Its one of the things i miss. I did adjust the contrast, highlights, blacks, shadows. It feels weird not having to change the wb.. lol same goes with the leica cameras I have. the wb is fine the way it is, only a few where I thought needed to be warmer. I did see those small sigma lenses and watched dpreview of it. I'd like a wider aperture for the 90 so I'll pass. the 24 is not bad but I dont need need it. I have the leica q2 and it's lens is a 28 1.7. for portraits, the 55 1.8 is still a favorite of mine. small, light weight, sharp, good bokeh and rendering. cool, you do need to change. too much of 50 can be boring lol do you get out of the house often? or stay indoors as much as you can? my brother and his wife tries not to go out too much and risk exposure. I havnt got to hold the baby yet and only saw her once. here's a shot with the q2 Hmm does that mean skin tones have improved? This is the only thing that makes me want to get a canon mirrorless camera. They have the superior skin tones out of camera for me. I could never get my Sony images to replicate canon skin profiles. -Omar- Flickr
