Circling back on this post, what cables are those? I finally decided on a PSU so I’m going to order some white cables. Leaning towards the Cablemod Modmesh white for a clean look, but trying to explore all my options.

I got modmesh, they are ok to me. I think I will get silverstone, I like the quality and they are more cotton than nylon. I got antec before and I find them to be too stiff. I'm just deciding on white sleeves with white connectors or white sleeves with black connectors.

Are your modmesh cables white? I’ve heard the white modmesh is kind of silvery. I like the clean look of the modmesh but the mod flex material definitely looks better in white.

Update to the build: Moved to a vertical mount GPU because this thing is massive and the power cable was hitting the glass. I think getting some better sleeved cables/removing the 6 pin to 3x8 adapter would help too.

I did tidy up the 24 pin a bit after this picture too, these stock cables are for ROG Thor are pretty nice, but they are really hard to use combs on with all the sense wires.

rephrase. I got the cable flex, and in black. I did like the antec combs and I think I used them instead of cablemods. I will get silverstone if I go with solid white, but I also want custom with some silver linings for the looks ehhe

sweet! the white gpu sure makes it look much nicer hehe. I really like the lianli cooler block, looks handsome and nicely machined. Also like that it's now in the normal position. I never got used to the mobo/build being flipped hehhe.

Yeah the white GPU made a big difference. White or white/silver cables would be a nice finishing touch I think.

Ha, yeah, I mostly went flipped because it works better to have my computer on the left side but the vertical GPU necessitated the change.

you need them white cables :P

I need to figure out whats wrong with my computer. it freezes sometimes and I would have to do a hard reset. Thinking its bad psu or mobo... leaning towards mobo more because it was the same with the bequiet psu installed. i really do not want to get a new mobo and have to take apart the pc again grrr. If i do, I want to go back to gigabyte.

Haha… maybe soon.

It’s a good looking rig, I’ve always like the look of that Corsair Dominator ram.

Anything in the event logs on windows? Does it happen with specific programs or just really anytime?

we are seniors 79 and 75 thus more afraid o covid, no travels for us soon not only because of fear of covid reinfection but congestion's and flight changes.

The A7R4 was good will use 16-35 next time, and maybe bring the M10 too,

24 is too narrow, 16-24 ? or 12-24? will be good to bring.

Good trip

Thanks. yes the corsair dominator rams are good looking and alot of fun :D they have some effects that others would not have. like the rain drops and matrix.

computer randomly freezes, it could just be idling and when I get back to it, I can't move the mouse around or bring up the start menu when pressing the windows key. I've pretty much switched out everything except for the mobo and cpu.rams are new, video card, psu, well the storages are the same.. hmm... wonder if its a bad m2 drive...

sorry you had a bad experience going on trips again, hope you do get to do more travels in the future. cruise even, less flights and going different ports.

Might want to check your ram voltages. I had a PC a while back and was using Corsair ram as well. The PC ran great but would freeze randomly. Had me perplexed as he!! but someone on a PC forum mentioned that they too saw the issue, raised the ram voltage a bit and the freezes stopped. I tried it and that was the solution for me as well. Ran the PC for several years after that with no issue, except for once. My cmos battery went dead and I had to replace it. Part of the process was to reset bios and that set all the voltages to auto. I forgot about the voltage change and the freezing came back. Set the voltage and all again was perfect. You might have the same issue, worth a shot as it's easy to do. (assuming your MB allows for manual ram voltage setting)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Yeah this is a good call, a lot of freezing is memory related. Could be voltage, timings, etc. I’d just a voltage tweak doesn’t do it then if there’s any XMP or OC profile try at stock.

If not that it might be worth doing a full bios reset, and if that doesn’t work try resetting your CPU while checking for bent pins. These new sockets and chips have so many pins it doesn’t take much for there to be bad contact that can wreak havoc on a system.
