A coveted species by birders, the Spot Crowned Barbet.

Perfect example of what a good photographer and a pretty bird can do. :)
I've never heard of one but it deserves all of the notoriety that it can get.

Thank you so much for your kind comment. I researched them and they are only found in portions of Panama and a small part of adjacent Columbia. It's no wonder they are coveted.

Thank you for commenting. Yes, it was exciting. I was told there were birders about the same area the week before trying to see one, but they failed.
