Feb 20, 2017 11:18 | #14 IMO it's a totally new market segment, though mostly intended to compete in the 70-300 range. We've never had a budget telephoto that went all the way to 400, at least not with modern optics. There's the old Tokina 80-400, but that thing was kind of a dog above 200 and Sigma's own 120-400 retailed for like $800. I could easily see this as a $500 MSRP, $350 street price lightweight telephoto with top notch optics. Snydremark my very own Lightrules moment More info | Feb 20, 2017 11:28 | #15 Given their new lens prices, I'd expect that it's going to still fall in that 800-1100 range; the new lens lines from them are being made as premium lenses, with better build quality, optics, etc. They're trying to get above the "bargain" lens level, and as such, are charging higher prices than in the past. That said, the new A/C/S lenses are quite nice, so far; just don't expect budget pricing on them. - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife
