I posted this on Flickr's help forum, but figured I'd get

I've been using Lightroom 5 Flickr publishing services to upload images for over a year. It's great. Had an issue today after I uploaded a photo that I subsequently needed editing. I deleted it from Flickr and made the edits in LR, marked the photo for republishing and made several attempts to re-publish it using the LR service, but had no success. What's the secret to get flickr. (I'm aware that I could upload a jpg, but that's not the point here. I want to get the LR service working for me.) Thanks.

I think the problem is that you deleted the image from Flickr, when you actually just wanted to republish a changed version. Unlike Instagram, Flickr supports the updating/re-publishing of images during which the existing image gets overwritten with the new version. But if you delete it from Flickr there is nothing to overwrite.

Yeah, I reached that conclusion yesterday. The solution was to rename the file in Finder so it could be reimported. Renaming it in lightroom didn't work.

Most of my advise isn't even useful once. Glad I have managed to come up with some that has helped twice ;)
