Having a hard time getting the Manfrotto 128RC head off the tripod

Having a hard time getting the Manfrotto 128RC head off the tripod it came with. I'm using channel lock pliers to hold the tripod base but the head just keeps turning round and round. Any tips? What am I missing.

Are there set screws under the mounting plate? Look from the bottom.

Yes, there was 1. I managed to get it off. I had to tighten the center adjuster. It came off after I did that.

Glad that was it. Most Manfrotto tripods have one or more set screws. Sometimes the opposite problem occurs; the head will wobble or spin when the screw is not tight or has fallen out.

Yea that little set screw (older tripods had 3)
Always catches people out.

You dont actually need to overtighten the head when installing as the set screws will lock it into place.
