canon 1dx left side dead!

Hi took my 1dx out of the bag and wanted to shoot a few family pics when I realized something is wrong. The rear display stays on, and ecept the main wheel all controls are dead. Can't change modes, cant change excess menu change any setting. it focuses fine and both wheels and dof button(custom) is working
will go in on monday but any idea what could be wrong??
Changed battery, no change!

Not sure if this will help but reset to default settings before getting too drastic...............

Might be a long shot, but try removing the internal battery and leave out for several minutes. Reinstall and see what happens.

Sounded like you have a corroded or bad ribbon cable. If you're brave enough, you can open the rear cover and clean the ribbon connection to the wheel. This happened to my friend's 6D and cleaning the connection fixed it.
