4-8 weeks? if you sent it to canon yourself, you'd have it back in a week probably...i wonder why it takes so long with the third party warranty...although sending it to canon you would have to pay for it all yourself...
4 to 8 weeks is not surprising to me. "Cushion" is often built into these estimates to cover various things. For instance, the owner may get the camera back to the store on Sunday, but they only ship to the warranty provider on Friday. The warranty place may not do repairs, they may ship to a repair facility. Close to 2 weeks already, and a fix hasn't started! All in the eyes of the end user as to expectations but often a refurb is sent back. Fine print is repair or replace, at the option of the warranty people...another reason to think twice about getting optional warranties.
