MY 7D Mk II tonight was taking photos for my cousin at a concert of his. I turned off the camera, a few minutes later tried to turn it back on and it will not come to life. Back home an inserted freshly charged batteries and still will not turn on. Anyone else have this issue.

Thanks

I had a very similar occurrance happen to me last year, but with a 5D(c) and I turned it off after having shot a few photos, to set up for the next shot...never woke up again. It needed a new main circuit, and fortunately I found an indy shop that still worked on 5D (although Canon no longer does).

Electronic components can suddenly fail on a circuit, rendering it inoperative. We are simply accustomed to a pattern that if it does not fail 'in infancy' it is ultimately very dependable, but things do fail suddenly.

Got my camera back today after being gone for exactly 7 weeks. Canon replaced the main board and the CMOS Sensor and recalibrate camera.

They replaced the sensor? Odd outcome for a camera that won't turn on... The main board makes sense though. Wow!

maybe the mainboard somehow got a short and it damaged the sensor as well?
