I don't do a lot of B&W but some images just seem to ask for it. My son on a park bend. Tight crop with leading lines.

This kind of 'b&w' is a personal pet hate of mine as there is no black and no white in the photo, it's all just shades of grey. Just lowering the saturation does not make an image black and white.

If it's only the name that bothers you, thinking of such images as monochrome instead might increase your comfort. People will undoubtedly continue to use the term "black and white."

It's nothing to do with the name. I'm just not a fan of grey photos.
