It's been quite a while since my last posting here. Previously CamDiver. Been through a few events in life. Now living in Okinawa and looking forward to exploring the magical beasties of the Yanbaru Forests in the North when the weather kicks in. Currently on my second MPE65mm, I wore the first one out and had to get one ordered direct from Canon, at least I'm in the same country at least. All good but now shooting with the Laowa Flash dual strobes, nice modeling light with that. And yep, been messing around with the constant battle of diffusion.

A shot from yesterdays wander...

Cheers,
Mark.

Nice shots, how many photos did your MPE65 mm last for?

Hey thanks. I was shooting the first one for about six years with no issues. I had my first ribbon issue, a known problem with the lens, after about seven years and I was a heavy heavy user of the lens. I had it repaired and then something that controls the electronic diaphragm decided to go south so I had that repaired. I then sold the lens and MT24EX as a pair but with the buyer fully aware of the lens history. If I was to hazard a guess I would say that anything between 80-100k shots went on that lens before having issues. Normally a lens wouldn't matter on the number of shots but given the fact that the bellows were constantly being manipulated could give an idea as to how fragile that communication ribbon is.

Hope that helps,
Cheers.
Mark.
