So I received my 55-250 STM yesterday and my 18-135 USM today. Wow!

First, I somehow lost my old 18-55 kit lens when I moved several years back, and I'd been missing a zoom in that range. While I haven't put the 18-135 to the test yet, I'm already quite pleased with the build quality (relative to cost), focus accuracy and speed, and sharpness. As a travel and general walk around lens, I don't think I could do better in my price range.

Second, the 55-250 STM is a great deal better than my 55-250 IS I had been using for years. The sharpness, focus speed and accuracy, and build quality all seam a few notches better. This will serve me well for getting photos of the kids, sporting events, etc.

Perhaps I'll write a better more lengthy review once I've used them for a while. For now, I'm ecstatic and really looking forward to getting out soon and seeing what I can find to shoot.

Thanks again to everyone who offered advice regarding this purchase.

Hey, glad the advice worked and you're happy! Probably got them both for the price of a 24-105L, too. :)

I love a like, but feedback (including CC) is even better!

Thanks! I don't know for sure what you would have to pay for a 24-105, but I was able to snag these two for under $500 total. One was a white box and the other a Canon refurb. Can't tell it from new, and I'm happy about the price for sure. Now I just need to make time to go walk around and find something interesting.
