I am looking at the capture clip for an upcoming trip to.....sigh, Disney world. Since I will be getting fleeced at every turn, as is the Disney way, i was going to try to in addition to the expected family captures, try to get some shots from a non theme park/family perspective. I would never lug my 6d and gear around, but now with the Fuji and my lens arsenal, I am going to I think make it a secondary objective to get some artistic and abstract shots. I also want to practice my street because I currently suck at that but would like to get better, and should be really comfortable setting for that since I assume a lot of people have cameras out anyway.

So I am looking hardest at the peak whatever capture clip one. I may find that putting it on the strap of my think tank mirrorless mover 25 is way to go over the belt, or roll belt. I am just not a fan of neck strap camera holding. The spider looks cooler and faster, but I think a bit much for my travel needs and more ideal for shooting an event with a few bodies. The reality is while I would want it to work for my 6D as well, anything I am going to be carrying around like that will be the Fuji.

Anyone use anything like this? Any thoughts? Would I not need to spend the extra for the pro version or is it worth the extra $20 because it is that much better?

I uses a TTP Digital Holster 40 v2.0 for my Canon for a one body-one lens setup.

If I carry more things (lens, accessories, tripod) using my bag, I uses the capture pro clip on my bag and clip my camera (sometimes Canon, sometimes Olympus) on it.

That is the capture pro, no? It is what I am looking to get I think.

Shame, there are a lot of knock offs which make more sense cost wise for what it is, but are you really going to hang 4 figures on a $20 knockoff system?

Im a big fan of Peak Designs and I still use my original Capture clip. If I'm using a messenger bag then I put the capture clip on the bag strap. Works great that way.

The Spider Light is a newer offering from Spider and is mad for Mirrorless. I haven't used it, or even seen it in person, but it looks like a nice option as well.

I personally have the peak design capture pro but would be interested in the new spiderlight holster with the design to ensure it doesnt cover the battery door and well with mirrorless we all know how important it is to be able to swap batteries easily.

The only thing I would ultimately miss on the capture is the option to clip it to a belt, backpack, messenger bag, etc. Always some trade off lol.

I remembered seeing this posted in the fuji thread. I'm not sure it it'll attach properly, but here is the post from PLLphotography.

I'm digging this spiderholster for mirrorless. It even has a built-in tripod (arca-swiss compatible) mount that the version for DSLRs doesn't have.

Yes, the spiderlight does not interfere with the battery door. I love my spiderlight. :P

The spider holster is meant to go on a belt and the spider light has a backpack option. Not sure how well it would work on a messenger bag

I'm quite tempted to get the backpack kit, but there's nothing wrong with my capture clip so really no need for it.

I didn't buy the belt, just the clip and mount, so I wear it on my own leather pants belt. It's small so I don't even notice the clip on my belt.

Thanks, I didnt realize they had a backpack option. I am in the same situation though, my capture clip works so no need to spend more money.

So what should I do? Hahaha

I am squarely between capture and spider light. Normally I just decide stuff but I am really torn on this and can't see in person first so makes it hard for this kind of thing. The spider looks better for in and out, the capture seems to be maybe more versatile?

That's a tough call man. It sounds like all of use have used one or the other but not both. Without using both it's hard to say get A or get B.

I think if I had to buy one right now without using either I'd go with the capture clip. But my use of the capture clip could be skewing my opinion.

Ok so,codes, applied, the spider is $100 even for backpack kit. And $54 for capture. I figured that I don't need pro for xe2, or should I for metal sanctity?

Also, amazon has a $12 spider knockoff that looks good, but I just can't do the hard plastic base.

So money is not my factor but the peak is half, and I would love to use that difference if they essentally function the same . The spider looks so much better for in and out (I would leave it unlocked a lot). Can you really get the peak capture out with one hand easily? I feel like that, and the plate digging in my gut are my biggest reasons to go spiderlight. I am not super fat, but I am not a statue by any stretch and at 15-20 away from fighting weight I have enough of a gut and love handle situation to be concerned haha.

Only draw back to spider is it hangs there and maybe is more prone to knock into things? Also hangs with longest part of camera away from your body and I much prefer it pointing down like on peak, or at least I do in theory is right way to say that.

I am almost tempted to get both and return what I don't like? I dont like being that guy though, and would rather hit it 1st time.

I know gremlin. Should I take one for the team and get both and do a full on Fuji review? Hahaha. I just so don't want the hassle of dealing with the return of the loser. I am going to see if the camera shop in west palm has either in stock, doubt it.

If you plan on using on your belt the majority of the time I think the spider would be the better option. I love the capture clip for backpack, bag, and even life jacket use (I use it while kayaking to hold the camera while I maneuver to get the shot)

One hand release with the capture is doable if the lens isn't too big. With a big lens I think it take two. One had release isn't the simplest thing though so the spider would be better there.

Thank you! I never thought of using the capture on my life jacket while kayaking. This may be a game changer lol.
