Attaching sync cable from 622 receiver to AD360 off course will works, but why you need the cable if you can attach the receiver directly.

Original 360 hot foot ...

If you don't trust me, ask Elvis from flashhavoc.
And come back here with his answer.
I have tried it and it works and I have proof to show. What else do you need.
Just try it!

Canon camera + YN622TX canon set to HSS, group set to SS --> YN622 canon + AD360 first version set to HSS (press mode+set button)

Set the shutter speed to 1/8000, set power on AD360 to its mininum power (1/8). Shot at the white surface.

Hmm. How about that?

I considered the TX for a while and read a lot about it, but never knew that it had the ability to do that. The initial problems with communication distances kept me from buying it.

You didn't have to adjust the timing or anything?

I think we are arguing about different things. HSS and SS is different. Sure, SS wil work with your set-up but HSS won't without the sync cable. I read up on it since I'm still at work but SS seems to only work at 1/1 AND 1/8 power. I previously thought it was only full power. Nixland, can you do your test real quick at say 1/4 power and 1/2 power? I'm thinking there might be banding at those power levels.

Only work at 1/1 and 1/8 ? Come on, that is silly.

I wil let the OP do it, so that you can trust me. Two people hopefully more convincing than one.

You can also ask Elv from flashhavoc if you are still not convinced. I got the tips from there.

I think I tried this, but at least I now know exactly what settings are referring to. I'll try again this afternoon, and post the followup.

Three pages of confusion.....

You need pre-sync thats triggers the flash before the shutter start to open. No pre-sync from the trigger you can wave goodbye to SS or HSS.

SS is one flash emitted and HSS is multiple rapid flash during the travel of the shutter. I always call the last one blinking light. ;-)a

It is stupid that makers of these flashes put HSS on the flash and confuse every one constantly. The AD360 can do full power long burn (SS) or blinking light (HSS) but needs a trigger that pre-sync to make it usable.

Exactly this, and the 622 triggers can do HSS with compatible flash thru the hot shoe trigger IF there are all the matching pins, or at least do Hyper Sync thru the pc port to the flash/strobe that has enough 'tail' in a full power pop, or one that can be set to a HSS mode.

Nixland, I believe!

Godox/Flashpoint r2 system, plus some canon stuff.
