Hi. I am having an odd issue. Edits made to the majority (80%) of pictures in one of my folders have inexplicably disappeared from LR5. I didn't notice it until I edited the rest of the pictures from that folder this morning. I know the missing edits must be in a previously backed-up version of the LR catalog. But if restore that entire back-up, it will undo the edits I made in that folder today, plus edits made to other folders since the date of the back-up. So my question is, can I restore only part of a catalog? Or perhaps are their other creative ways of handling this issue? I have no idea what may have caused it; my workflow hasn't changed, nor have I implemented any new back-up protocols.

Appreciate the help.

Unzip the backup and open it in LR by double-clicking on the .lrcat file. Put that folder with 80% edited up on the grid view in Library and then select all the edited photos and only them. Go to File>Export as Catalog and save that new catalog on your desktop with a distinctive name. like George. George will be a sort of mini-catalog containing data only about those files that you have selected. Close LR and relaunch it with your current master catalog. Go to File>Import from Another Catalog and choose George. When everything looks good again, delete George.

Perfect! That worked like a charm. THANK YOU. I will refer to this trick again should this scenario ever repeat itself.
