I am learning lighting now by getting flash (430exll) off camera, this is being done now by optical triggering. Works great, but now I've decided to bring in a Sekonic light meter, mentioned in title. So this is where i'm lost, it appears I need some sort of way to trigger my off camera flash. Can anyone help me with this?

I run Canon 60d and Canon 6d. So what are my options out there for triggers to use to for this set up.

I never really thought of going into flashes and such for this type of lighting, but here I am. Thank you all in advance!

you could put your meter into non-corded flash metering mode at subject position, walk over to your off-camera flash unit and push the Test fire 'open flash' button

Yup.

Using a cordless trigger for the camera works, as does most remotes for flashes.
