Going to Sweden in July. Really glad I shoot film.

EDIT: Just realized Sweden is fine. Still bringing film :-D

Wouldn't matter, you will still not be taking your camera in the cabin. Well I guess they might make an exception for a completely mechanical camera, since the rules to talk about electronic devices. If it has built in metering though, that would be enough to make it an "electronic device" and require placing in the hold.

Flights to and from Sweden are not affected by this ban.

I was referencing the original suggestion that seemed to have the aim of using film to get around the ban on electronics on those flights that will be affected by this. I guess I should have been more specific. Maybe this might help sales of the Leica M-A, I have a feeling it is the only interchangeable lens 35mm camera in production that has no battery or electronics of any kind. I wonder how they would feel about a selenium cell lightmeter?

The Leica M-A is the only 35mm camera with no build in lightmeter currently in production, yes. I have two Pentax SLRs that have no lightmeter and no electronics once so ever. Had this ban taken effect in Sweden I definitely would take those. And man, if I had a Leica M-A I would take that everywhere and anywhere no matter if that was my only choice or not.

I would say good luck at convincing airport security that your film camera is any safer than digital.
