Even though eBay told me they were aware of the problem, and had restricted the seller (welljob) from selling more spark plugs they couldn't do anything for me.

What do you mean, they couldn't do anything for you? You have a money back guarantee. You file a case, you get a refund, and the seller pays to have them shipped back to him.

^^^^^But, I discovered the problem after the short "money back guarantee" time expired. Counterfeit plugs are hard to detect, and I didn't realize it until after other buyers had started complaining. I then compared my plugs to a good set. That's when I realized the issue.

Since they knew of the issue when I called, and had sanctioned the seller, they could have helped my out. They chose not to.

IOW a latent defect.

Lou

If you paid through PayPal, you have 180 days of protection through them.

^^^^Again, it was longer than that. And again, counterfeit products are sometimes hard to spot, my case here. It was not until I realized that there was a chance these were counterfeit. I first thought these were legitimate, and until I thought to check them against the real product at an Auto Parts store. Then I could see the difference. The counterfeit plugs were well done, until I compared them with the real thing. BTW, the seller was from China. That should have been my first clue. But, as I say, eBay is on my to avoid list.

Did the listing say they were in China, or did they hide behind a USA address? That's their latest trick.

^^^^Naw, I knew they were coming from China. Bad decision on my part, and bad decision on eBay's part not to support me.

I just got a great deal on Ebay
Tamron SP 70-200 f2.8 Di VC USD for $620 from Japan :)

These Japanese people are awesome, 100% reliable and honest. The seller did everything that I asked for and I received the package in just 4 days (Japan to Europe)

Just to show you E-Bay isn't all that bad took a chance on Canon body and rear lens cap set. Order two sets at $1.79 each took 19 days from Hong Kong to east coast
USA. Perfect knockoffs Canon name and all perfect fit. Sellers name Kiului388 in case anyone is looking for cheap caps. That price included shipping.
