Hi all,

Is it possible to have an on camera flash to be bounced on ettl and a flash OOC on manual at the same time? I own a 5d3, 1x yn622, 2x yn685 and 1x canon 430
Sorry for the noob question

I used to do it all the time.
Using the yn622 on camera may complicate things a bit, but if you can get groups setup with the speedlite on top of the yn622 set to TTL, then its a simple matter using the camera flash menu to set the remote speedlites to M mode.

If you don't have all the speedlites on yn622 transceivers it may be a bit more challenging.

Ok, so, 5d3 + 622c + canon speedlight on top ETTL and rest on manual?

Just discovered the mix mode on the yn622. That's fantastic. I can have my 430 on top on ettl and then 1 or 2 speed lights bouncing from the corners in manual. Once my batteries are charged again, I will try a setup with 430 on ettl, and the 2 speed lights bouncing in two different groups, so I can get bounce light and back light for events with 2 different sources for the back light. For this light, better bounced or direct? I was thinking around 1/32 or 1/64 strength?

Learning is fun!
